About us….
Melhop Gallery
MELHOP GALLERY º7077 began as a brick-and-mortar space on the shores of Lake Tahoe, USA, and has since evolved into a nomadic curatorial project under the direction of artist and curator Frances Melhop. This transition reflects both a philosophical shift and a practical response to the changing cultural landscape — rethinking how contemporary art can be presented, experienced, and sustained.
Rather than anchoring itself to a fixed site, the gallery operates through a site-responsive model, creating exhibitions in locations that resonate with the conceptual essence of each artist’s work. Melhop’s dual perspective as both practitioner and curator fosters a practice grounded in transparency, ethical care, and meaningful dialogue between artists, collectors, and audiences. Each exhibition is designed not only as an encounter with art, but as an opportunity for reflection on identity, place, and the shared human experience.
Representing twelve predominantly female, emerging to mid-career artists, MELHOP GALLERY º7077 offers collectors exclusive access to conceptually compelling, globally sourced contemporary art. With an artist network reaching from Lake Tahoe to New York, Seoul, Kumamoto (Japan), London, and Moscow, the gallery curates opportunities to acquire works that are both culturally resonant and investment-worthy. MELHOP GALLERY º7077 affirms its role as a bridge between artists and collectors, fostering connections that enrich both private collections and the wider cultural landscape.
